Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 September 2026. This policy describes what Tinsel Tote actually does, not a generic template.

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell anything directly, and we do not sell or share your data. The only personal information we ever receive is what you type into the contact form, and the only tracking on the site is Google Analytics.

Information you give us

If you use the contact form, you send us your name, your email address, an optional subject and your message. That is delivered by email to info@tinseltote.com and stored in that mailbox.

We use it only to reply to you and, where you have reported an error, to correct the page. We do not add you to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list. We do not pass it to anyone.

The contact form also records the moment the page loaded and your IP address at the moment of submission, purely to reject automated spam. Neither is stored beyond the request, and the IP address is held in memory only, for rate limiting.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which buy links get clicked. It sets cookies in your browser and reports aggregated usage data to Google. It tells us things like “the wreath sizing page was read 300 times this week”; it does not tell us who you are.

We fire one custom event of our own, called affiliate_click, when someone clicks a buy link. It records which retailer, which page and which product — not anything about you. It exists because our buy links pass through a server-side redirect that Google Analytics would otherwise not see, and it is the only way we can tell which of our recommendations are useful.

Google's own handling of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy. If you would rather not be measured, browser-level tracking protection and ad blockers both prevent it, and the site works normally without it.

Affiliate links

When you click a buy link, you leave this site for the retailer, usually Amazon. From that point their privacy policy applies, not ours.

Retailers use their own cookies to attribute a purchase to us so we earn commission. That attribution tells us a sale happened; it does not tell us who made it or what else was in the basket. We never see your name, address or payment details, and we have no way to. Details of the commercial arrangement are on our affiliate disclosure page.

Cookies

The cookies set on this site are the Google Analytics ones described above. We set no advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers of our own, and no preference cookies, because there are no preferences to store.

Your browser lets you block or delete cookies. Nothing on this site breaks if you do.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses and request paths for operational and security purposes. That is ordinary web hosting and applies to every site on their platform.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone.
  • We do not run advertising networks or set advertising cookies.
  • We do not operate a newsletter or collect email addresses for marketing.
  • We do not have user accounts, logins or profiles.
  • We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

Children

This site is intended for adults buying storage products and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. In practice the only thing we are likely to hold is an email you sent us.

Email info@tinseltote.com and we will tell you what we have and delete it on request.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and change the date at the top. We will not make a change quietly.
